Get to Know Our Church

What is Ohana?

Ohana is Hawaiian for “family”. When we founded Faith Honolulu Christian Church, our vision was to experience Christians coming together as one unique family in Christ to make a difference in Hawaii. Now, more than 30 years later, this remains our goal: to be a church for the entire family. We strive to make everyone feel like they belong in our Ohana no matter their background! Whether you are a fourteen year old girl, a forty year old man, or a senior  you have a welcome here in our family every week.

The church is God’s mechanism for accomplishing His work till the end days when we as Christians, are summoned home. Our assignment is to continue to raise up the Ohana of God through enthusiastic service and evangelism. We are not satisfied to be content with the present family we have, but to be continuously adding members to the Kingdom through the demonstrating of God’s love and Grace to the world. We invite you to visit Faith Honolulu Christian Church to find out what it means to be a part of the Ohana!

WELCOME!  From the moment you are guided into the parking area, you will feel right at home.  Then, our greeters will be waiting to welcome you and ready to give directions or answer any questions you may have. The Welcome Center is located at the rear of the sanctuary. And as you make your way to your seats our ushers will welcome you, and help you find your best seating choice. Then just sit back, relax, and enjoy the service!

There is not a dress code at Faith Honolulu Christian Church for members or guests. Our team leaders and our church family dress in their best Sunday dress in line with the tradition and culture they grew up in whether that be an Aloha shirt and slacks, a Filipino Barong, or Hawaiian Aloha wear. Our goal is that you feel welcome and comfortable while visiting here at Honolulu Christian Church! We are just happy that you are here!

What are the services like?

What you will discover when you come to any of our services at

Faith Honolulu Christian Church is a diverse, friendly community made up of numerous different cultures and members of the military, both young and senior and all with smiling, kind faces. Every service presents an opportunity for you to get to know others and grow more intimate with God through inspiring worship, practical teaching, and a Spirit filled atmosphere. It’s all right if you don’t have everything figured out yet, we’ll work it out together!  All are welcome.

Am I expected to participate in the offering?

We don’t invite you to Faith Honolulu Christian Church for your offering. We desire our service to be a gift to you. We want you to find at Faith Church a warm O'Hana spirit, inspiration from God’s Word, and a home where you can thrive in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any pressure to participate in the offering as a guest.  But remember, "The Lord delights in a cheerful giver."

Are there classes for my children?

From start to finish, at Faith Honolulu Christian Church we work hard to make your families’ experience with us a great experience! We want to make this your child’s preferred day of the week. We use seasoned volunteers  air-conditioned classrooms, fun activities, and unique programs to instill the timeless knowledge of our loving Savior. We believe this establishes our children’s ministry as a place your child will be encouraging you to bring them back to every week.  Our greeters can guide you to their classrooms at Faith Church. We believe that children play a vital role in the church family. We also understand that it is important to you to see that your children will be well cared for, instructed with excellence and loved just as you would love them yourself. We are committed to giving each child a complete Bible education that will help them grow “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4)  Many children in our church are impatient to return to Sunday School, Youth Church, or Vacation Bible School, or The Five Minute Word to find out what interesting Bible stories they will hear about next. Take a few moments and explore each of our age groups and learn how we carry out these programs.

Nursery-  We provide nurturing nursery care in all of our services in a sterile and safe environment. We know how energized babies can be, and also understand the concerns a parent has to be assured their baby is in capable hands. You can drop off your child care-free knowing we will care for them and love them while offering you an opportunity to relax in the service discovering what God has for you.

Why Should You Fellowship With Us?

At Faith Honolulu Christian Church, We Believe:

We are Non-Denominational

We are an Independent, Bible-believing, Christian Church totally committed to completing the Great Commission in the city of Honolulu, on the island of Oahu, in the state of Hawaii, throughout the United States, and to the ends of the world.

Independent: We are a local, self-governing, body of believers; we are not part of any mainland national convention or large organization. Our church is a Democratic Theocracy; governed by the Holy Spirit through the decision making of the members under the leading of the Pastor.

Strictly Biblcial

We believe the Bible to be the perfect Word of God and our only standard for faith and practice. Everything that we perform, teach, or preach must have a Biblical foundation and be honest to the principles of God's Word.

Missionary: We are determined to carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) on Oahu, in Hawaii, throughout the United States, and all over the earth using our local services, our outreach programs in the state of Hawaii, and with the support of worldwide missions.

The Word of God teaches that salvation is the free gift of God, and not the works of man, and that “whoever believes in him should not die, but have eternal life.”  (John 3:15-16 NIV) The Bible says, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23 KJV). How do I know that heaven is my destination?

The Scriptures

We understand that the Bible is without error, is inspired, and is the infallible (perfect) Word of God and that it is the final authority in every matter of faith and exercise. For the reason of unity inside the church and for textual accuracy, we choose to use the New King James Version of the Bible. II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21

Sovereignty of God

We believe that God is Person, eternally living, as a Trinity all in one – The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, three separate persons and yet as one God. Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 26:19; I Corinthians 8:6

The Son of God,

Jesus Christ, existing eternally, is the only born Son of God, who lived a sinless man for the purpose of redeeming us. He was born from a virgin womb, lived a life without sin, was killed and rose up again and sits today at the right hand of God on his throne interceding for us. John 1:1-15; Romans 8:31-34; Philippians 2:5-8; Colossians 1:11

Service

The local church is a congregation of believers baptized by full immersion, joined together for edification, for lifting up, and for evangelism as directed by Jesus Christ in the Scriptures. The main purpose of the church is to give glory to God, prepare believers to do the work of ministry and to share the Gospel to every person. Mark 16:15; Matthew 28:19-20, Ephesians 1:6-14, 1:21-22, 4:11-16; I Timothy 3:15

Second Coming

Jesus Christ Himself will shortly come again and be seen in the air to take up His Church, to judge and reward their service, and to save Israel! The unbelievers that are left behind will go through a period called the Period of Great Wrath where all enemies of Christ will receive judgement on earth and be defeated. After that Christ will cleanse the earth and set up His kingdom of a thousand years of peace and righteous rule. At the end of the Millennium, those who rejected Christ through all the ages will appear before the Great White Throne to be judged, and then be cast into the Lake of Fire, to be separated from God for all eternity, while believers will enter into an eternity of bliss in Heaven with the Lord Jesus. Matthew 29:29-42; I Thessalonians 4:16-18; Revelation 19:11-20:13
